The
Ailie (I-Lee) Pearson Alternative Education Fund
Was
created
in Memory of
Ailie
Anna Amalia Pearson
On March 2, 2001, our daughter
Ailie Anna Amalia Pearson was
fatally
injured in an automobile
accident. She was 16 years old.

In her memory, an education fund has been established. The Ailie Pearson Education Fund has been founded to help youths in fields where conventional scholarships and grants are limited or nonexistent . Ailie herself, wanted to be a make-up artist and hairdresser. The beneficiaries of this fund are kids who demonstrate motivation, talent, and courage in their lives. This fund helps deserving young men and women with financial support to obtain G.E.D. certificates, or to attend vocational schools and other educational opportunities not normally included by grants and scholarships. These kids have talents in fields that are creative, not academic . These kids will no longer be ignored! We will help these young people, in Ailie's name. We will also mentor these young people. We will help them get jobs, apartments, and vehicles if they need them. They can call on us for any and every need they have during this year, and we will do our best to help them, or steer them toward someone who can help them.

Our annual Smiley's Day event will be held in May of each year, near Ailie's birthday, which is May 15th. The event will consist of many activities such as golf, bowling, a talent show, and karaoke. There will also be raffles and a silent auction if possible. Young people are encouraged to set up a table to display their own individual talents, at no cost to them. We also encourage community leaders, government leaders, educators, business owners, family and the general public to come and see the wonderful displays set up by our young people. Various schools are also setting up activities for everyone to participate in. We encourage all the schools to participate and have your school recognized!
You are invited to participate in this annual event. There are several opportunities for involvement . We ask for volunteers to work on the day of the event. We ask for your cash donations and/or raffle prize donations. We ask you to come and join us in an entire day of family fun! Net proceeds from the days ticket sales and raffle proceeds will go the scholarship fund. We plan on having activities for the kids during the year also, so we can continue to build this fund. Annual beneficiaries will be named and financial awards distributed on the day of the event, which will be held every year on or around Ailie's birthday, which was May 15. It is our hope that many young people over time will benefit, and Ailie's memory will live on through this annual event and scholarship award.

We hope to be available to young people through an Educational Help Hotline where kids can call for assistance in removing any obstacle in their way to obtaining any type of continuing education that they desire, in any field they choose. This is our goal and our dream! We would like to be able to help them in any way possible , including getting them transportation, supplies, tutoring, etc. We would welcome your help and advice. Give us a call if you have any questions, suggestions, or if you would like applications to apply for these funds! All donations to this fund are tax deductible.
