Merry Christmas Everyone!
Robert and I are doing well.  I am doing home health care and working
56-60 hours per week.  Keeps me busy, and I just love the people I am
helping, really!  It has been really hard for us, getting back on our feet,
but we have accomplished it, thank God.  Our little mouse house is cozy.
We are finished getting all the furniture we need,
and are very comfortable.
Of course, we don't spend much time here because we are always working
but no complaints.

This getting old sucks.  Can't believe I am praying for 62 years of age to get
here so I can get some rest.  Then, maybe Robert and I can devote more time to
Ailie's Fund, and the kids.  So many still need help, and it's frustrating that
we cannot reach out to them.  I can thank Teresa Jex, and the Society
of St. Vincent de Paul for that.

I wish I could let go of the anger I feel toward her for trying to destroy our lives.
God tells us to forgive.  I deal with it every day.  I just cannot believe that
our lives were nearly totally destroyed because of her.  Thank God Robert and I
are strong, hardworking people, and we were able to crawl back. No thanks to her.
I will try, honestly, but forgiving her is a hard, painful, thing for me to swallow.

I love and miss you all.  If you can, drop us a line, ok?

Make Me Brave for Life
God, make me brave for life; oh braver than this
Make me straighten after pain, like a tree straightens after a rain
Shining and lovely again
God, make me  brave for life: oh braver than this
as the blown glass lifts, let me rise
From sorrow with quiet eyes
Knowing thy way is wise
God make me brave, life brings such blinding things
Help me to keep my sight, help me to see aright
That out of dark, comes light...

April 1, 2006

Things have changed so drastically in our lives this last year.

Robert and I lost our jobs at the camps for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Promises were made to us, for a lifetime of working with children at the camps.
We were promised jobs, and a living situation for the rest of our lives.  We
believed we were being called into service.

Robert and I were laid off in October and November of 2006, due to budget
cuts. Since we had given away just about all of our possessions so that we
could move into the camp, we were left virtually homeless, and definitely jobless.

A friend let us move into her home.  She basically saved us.  We are now
living in Sandusky, Michigan, and we are looking for jobs.  Believe me, we
have seen that there is discrimination in the job market because of our age.

Robert and I cannot set up Smiley's Day this year.  We just don't have
the money to do it.  It takes money to set up the day, and to advertise.
Robert is trying to have a little golf outing on May 13th, at Woodland Hills
Golf Course in Sandusky.  You cannot keep that man down.  He still try's.

I don't know what will happen in our lives next, to tell you the truth.  We
are just trying to hang on.  Our unemployment runs out soon, and then,
we will have to face each day as it comes.

I will do my best to keep Ailie's Fund alive in any form I can.  I just think
that we will have to lie dormant until we can get back on our feet again. It
breaks my heart that I cannot reach out to the young people asking for help.
I never thought we would be left in this position, and not being able to help
hurts the most.

We send you all our love.  We will keep you all informed if anything changes.
Thanks to each of you for your help!

Love,

Bonnie & Robert

Robert and I lost our jobs today.  Budget cuts they say.
Now, we will have to leave this little cabin here at work by Nov. 1st.
We have nowhere to go, so we are frantically searching for jobs, and
a place to live.  Of course, we won't be able to get an apartment
without a job.  We have a little time to search and I am grateful for that.
I don't know how we will be able to keep Ailie's Fund going now.
I am really afraid of our future, if we even have one.
God has seen me through so much, I pray he will see us through this.
It's hard to believe that we followed in blind faith, and with
our hearts, and that we have been so deceived and betrayed.  We were
little mice following the piper, Teresa Jex, and we believed in her, and
her promises to us.   Live and
learn I guess.

Love,
Bonnie

Hi everyone!
Robert and I are just
finishing our 2nd season of summer camp.  Seven weeks of
having youngsters here at our  camp.
We  now have three weeks of
band camps, and other camps renting our facilities.
Ailie's Fund had Smileysday in
May and our golf outing in July.  Funds are down
this year, but we were able to help
Miranda Hester a little bit.  She will be finishing college
this year, and we are helping her.
Robert and I do not know
what is in our future, to be honest with you.  Ailie's Fund
cannot function without help.
We are  trying to sort out our options.  We miss all you
guys, and would love to
hear from you.  Give us a call at 810-359-8316.
Cody's new baby son has been born!
Caleb Jordon..he is wonderful....
Love,
Bonnie and Robert

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Here is an article from the Port Huron Times Herald dated 1/11/05

12/25/04

Merry Christmas everyone!  Robert and I have accepted new
positions with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  We will be taking care of
Camp Ozanam and Camp Stapleton, on Lake Huron.
I am the Office/Site
Manager for the Camps, and Robert is the
Maintenance/Grounds Director for both camps.
We are so very grateful to be here!  We live in a cabin at
Camp Ozanam, and we are very happy.
I will be renting these camps out to the public for retreats,
reunions, and sports camps.  There are so many wonderful
reasons to rent these camps, as
they are a little piece of heaven!  In the summer, we offer a
wonderful camping experience to kids,
at no cost to them.  This is a dream come true for me.
We are meeting so many wonderful people,
and the kids are absolutely wonderful!
Teresa Jex, the Director of Camp Operations
wants us to be house parents for a home they will
be opening up for kids that are transitioning from orphanages.
Robert and I will be teaching them how to get jobs, and
how to live on their own.
We believe in Teresa's dreams for camp, and when she asked
us to leave our jobs, and our farm and come to camp and help
her, we had to think long and hard about it.  We believe
if we don't take this chance, we will regret it.  It is our dream
come true to help kids.  Teresa has made us such
wonderful, hopeful promises, and we really want to work with
her to make these dreams come true for kids.  She is a good Christian
woman, and we seem to be drawn together for the betterment
of these kids.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves the poor in so many
ways, and I cannot believe we have been so chosen, and so blessed!

Of course, in our spare time, we are working
very hard for you kids.  Please take this opportunity to
fill out an application for Ailie's Funds,
and let us help you get a good start in life!

We miss you all!  Give us a call and come see us!

Love,
Bonnie

Announcing our 2004 Scholarship Winner!

November 13, 2003

Hello There!

Last night was the DTE Energy Luminary Awards Reception
at the Roostertail in Detroit.  Robert and I took Ivette and her husband
Mario Mendoza with us.

It is a good thing we left early cuz we got lost!  Mapquest is
not always correct in their maps!  Nevertheless, we got there
and what a wonderful reception it was.

The Roostertail is such a beautiful place! So much fancy and classy
and what we are not used to!  The food was cooked at different stations
by wonderful people!  A pasta bar, a refreshment bar.  a stirfry bar, a
salad bar, a dessert bar, and bread and meat bar.  I have never seen
anything like it in my life!  The food was incredible and cooked to
your taste right there in front of you.

Everyone mingled and got their food and took it to large tables
covered in white linen with candle trees as the
enterpieces.  At least 8 people could sit at every table, so you had a
chance                                                      to meet some wonderful people.  What a humbling experience.
There are some wonderful people in this world, doing wonderful
things in their community to help others.
How honored I felt to be a part of it.

After the dinner the awards program took place.
I just wish every winner had an opportunity
to speak so I could hear about all the wonderful things people are doing.

We were handed our awards by the CEO of DTE, and
he was a very gracious man....very warm.
We were all told that "The Check Is In The Mail"...to great laughter!

I know if my little Smiley would have been there,
she would have been proud.  Not of her Mama,
but of herself, because her accomplishments,
even though not academic, were
being honored too and that kids just like
her can get recognition and financial
support for the creative things that they can do to develop their career!

Wish you could have been there with us.  I believe we are now
on a path of learning.  I was told last night that there may be
government grants and other help that we might be able to get,
and I will work very hard finding out about these!  I met
wonderful people that are willing to help US!!  How exciting!

Love,

Bonnie

Subject: Ailie

Hello. My name is Carrie Sluga.
My husband and I live in central
llinois. I am 5 months pregnant with our first child.

We have decided if this baby is a girl
her name will be Ailie Renee.
It is apparently my husbands grandmother's sister's name.

Tonight, for no reason, but out of boredum,
I put in Ailie in the Google search box at
the top of my computer screen and I found your web site.
While reading I found some strange things.

I read that your Ailie was injured on March 2.
My baby is due March 4. And we all know that
babies don't come on your due date.
Also that your Ailie's birthday
is May 15. Mine is May 11, 1977.
As I write this my baby is kicking
and moving about in ways that are wonderful.

My husband and I are still debating on if we
are going to find out the sex of this baby.
We have our next ultra sound on November 12th.

As I am writing this email and clicking back
and forth to your Ailie's page, there is
this huge tug at my heart strings
that says I need to find out who this is inside of me.

I just wanted to let you know that there is a
possibility that there is another Ailie out there.
We won't know for sure until next week.
I will make sure that your Ailie
is now included in my prayers.
God Bless
Carrie Anne Sluga

A Prayer for Ailie

From the dawn of your birth
To the sunset of your death
I honor you.

From the missions you completed
To your dreams left undone
I honor you.

From the seasons of your being
Through the cycle of your life
I honor you.

From your time beyond the veil
Lie your entrance back again
May the angels support you

May my healing love reach you
From this moment until
the end of time.
So may it be.
Mama loves you...

Hi Everyone!

Ailie's Fund received two important awards this month,
and I would like to share them with
all of you since many of you are
also responsible for helping this fund and
making it successful!  A round of applause to each and every one of
you !!

This morning I got up and looked at the mail that
I had received yesterday,
Saturday October 25, 2003, and I opened this letter...

October 24, 2003

Dear Mrs. Gainor:

Congratulations!  You have been selected as a
recipient of a Community Luminary Award!

outstanding leaders and volunteers for their
dedication to creating a better quality of life in Michigan.

The DTE Energy Foundation has
partnered with the Michigan

award these grants in
commemoration of Detroit
Edison's 100th anniversary.  The Community Luminary Awards
are a vital part of DTE Energy's enduring
dedication to corporate citizenship.

designated to the charity of their choice, a
commemorative gift and recognition at upcoming
receptions being held
November 12th at the Roostertail in Detroit, Michigan
and November 17th at the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

You were nominated for this award by
Ivette Mendoza.  Nominators will also receive

Here is the another letter I received:

10/22/03

Dear Mrs. Gainor:

On 10/22/2003 the Sanilac County Community
foundation, the Sanilac county Human Services
Coordinating Body, and the Sanilac county
United Way hosted the 11th Annual Silver
Lining Awards luncheon at the Sanilac Centre, in
Sanudsky, Michigan.

The purpose of this luncheon was to honor individuals,
organizations and businesses who have
improved Sanilac County
through volunteerism.
Bonita Gainor and the Ailie Pearson Alternative Education
Fund was selected to receive one of these awards.

Following is what was read at the 11th Annual Silver Lining
awards in Sandusky, Michigan when
the award was handed out to Bonnie Gainor by Helene Lieberman.

"Bonnie Gainor of Croswell, Michigan is
the founder of the Ailie Pearson Alternative
Education Fund.  This mother of an
accident victim found healing and comfort from
establishing a memorial.  The most dreaded loss,
the death of a child, caused
Bonita Gainor to work through her grief onto another
level...that of initiating a
Scholarship Fund for needful students.
The Ailie Pearson Alternative Education Fund
is thriving, offering kids an opportunity to
learn, and bringing some degree of solace to
a mother who cared to enhance and
memorialize her daughter's life.  We  honor you, and
thank you, Bonnie Gainor!"

My thanks to each and every one of YOU
who have worked so hard along side of me to
insure Ailie's Fund is a
uccess and a valued resourse in this community!

Hip Hip Horraaayyyyyy!!!!!!!

All My Love,
Bonnie Gainor

Bonnie,

Hey how have you been?  I'm doing good.
Just seen you the other day, it was really great.  I've
finally seen the web site it's really beautiful.  It made me
feel as if she was still here.  I could almost hear her laugh.
It brings a tear to my eyes, but I know shes in a better place.
I know we are devastated that she's gone.
But we all have our memories, that can tell her story for years to
come, that she was just the most wonderful person in the world.
I can't wait to see you again,I'll stop by as soon as I can.
Just give me a call, we can talk, go for lunch, or maybe
I cna come and visit.  I'll e-mail again.
But you can't e-mail me here cause it's a friends computer.

 Love Always,

Anna Zimmer

Letter to All of the Contributors to the
Ailie Pearson Alternative Education Fund:

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the
wonderful people and area businesses for their
contributions to the Ailie Pearson Alternative Education Fund.

Because of these contributions, I have been able to
graduate from Cosmetology College, and begin the career of my dreams!

I started Cosmetology College when I was in the 11th
grade and have been going a semester at a time,
as I could afford it.  This has been difficult,
as I have been living on my own and supporting
myself since I was a senior in High School.

Had it not been for winning the scholarship offered
by the Ailie Pearson Alternative Education
Fund for the last two years, and for their
help in purchasing the equipment that I needed,
I might not have been able to graduate and begin
my career.  My dream is to open my own shop in the near future.

Thank you so very much for helping make
my dreams come true!  God Bless all of you!

Ivette Roman Mendoza
Lexington, Michigan

5/14/03

I received a very sad letter from a
young woman today who has just
lost her unborn child, and the
two year old daughter of her fiancé.
She does not know how to face her grief,
and asked me for some help.
My God..this is the hardest letter I have ever answered.....

Ashley....

You need to find this "Woman's Strength" that is inside all of us
women. You need to find
something, or someone to focus on so the grief does not consume you...

I am asked every day..."How Do You Do It?"

I don't know..God must be giving me strength.

Ailie dies again each and every morning for me....Every day
when I open my eyes, she dies again...."Ailie, how can you NOT
be here with me?" You need me, and I cannot
save you." It stabs my heart every waking
moment. How could I have saved her? Why wasn't I able to protect her?

I said to Dave Hall,  the police man, upon
arriving in the emergency room,
"Tell Ailie that Mama is here!"  I did not know that she was already dead.

I remember pressing my face to hers
in the hospital.  Even in death, I could
smell her sweet skin and I tried to
inhale  her fragrance into my head
so I would never forget the smell of her...my little one, my baby girl.

The grief never ends.....you just have to find a way to cope.

I have My Cody to keep me sane.
I have my grand children's lovely
faces in front of me to bring me a ray of joy in the middle of unbearable darkness..

I have Ailie's friends who show me
how she could and would have been.
I see Ailie's face in the
face of all her friends who loved her so, and who grieve with me.

I have Ailie's Education Fund to keep
her memory alive. I devote my life to
helping other kids just like her,
because I can no longer devote myself to her.  She was the heartbeat in my chest.

I have found other causes to
focus on...to keep my sanity, because
I have choosen not to give up and die with her.
Funny, I always told her, "If something
happens to you, they can bury me in the
same grave, because I will die without you!"
Eventually, I found that I could not jump
into that grave with her, no matter how much I wanted to.

What good would it do for my family to bury me along side of her?
Along side of my son?
Along side of my brother-in law?
Along side of my nephew?
Along side of Ailie's grandfather?
Along side of Taco?

Along side of Dewey?
Along side of all of them that have died in the
past 6 years. What good could ever possibly come of that??

I have to make some good from all this horrible,
horrible death that h
as surrounded me for these last
few years, and I choose to do all the good that I can do in Ailie's name.

I will never be the same you know. Neither will you.
Death scars us.  Most people cannot
see the deep scars it leaves....but I know they are there.

Know how? My husband
Robert said to me a while ago.....
"You are not the same." I lashed
out at him screaming..."Of Course
I am not the same....I will never be the
same, how could I ever be
the same...I am dead too!".......no...you will NEVER be the same....

But maybe you can find a way to be better?
Try, ok?? Try to find that strength inside you.
Find a way to bring some good into your
life and the lives of others. Your grief will never
go away, but maybe some joy will find a way into
your life because of the good you bring into the lives of others!

I send you my love, and MY STRENGTH....because you will need it my dear!

Love,
Bonnie

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE
COMFORT. IT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER
TO KNOW THAT I HAVE SOMEONE OUT
THERE WHO SHARES THE SAME
FEELINGS THAT I DO AND IT
MADE ME FEEL BETTER BY YOU GIVEING ME SOME ADVICE.

YOU ARE VERY DEAR TO ME AND I HAVE
OFFICIALLY WRITTEN YOUR NAME IN MY
HEART AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
YOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL WOMEN DON'T
EVER FORGET THAT AND YOUR
STRENGTH AMAZES ME AND I LOOK UP TO YOU FOR THAT.

THINGS ARE SLOWLY GETTING BETTER
FOR ME AT LEAST. I STILL LAY AWAKE
TO FIVE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING TRYING
TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT OF THIS NIGHTMARE
AND BRING MY TWO BABIES BACK.

THANKS TO YOU I HAVE FOUND SOME
STRENGTH INSIDE OF MYSELF TO MAKE IT
THROUGH ANOTHER DAY. I USED TO TELL
EVERYONE THAT "STRENGH IS THE KEY TO
LIFE" BUT NEVER THOUGHT OF USING IT
MYSELF AND NOW THAT I WATCHED
MY WHOLE WORLD CRUMBLE IN FRONT
OF ME AND MY BOYFRIENDS WHOLE WORLD
ALSO, I HAVE LEARNED THAT I NEED
TO PUT SOME OF WHAT I PREACH INSIDE OF MYSELF

THANK YOU FOR A REALITY CALL

ashley

I hope you all get an opportunity to
 go to Ailie's monument.
Her vases have been installed,
and they are beautiful!  I put white
roses and powder blue daisies and
ivy in them.  Let me know, if you go to see them, ok?

Love,
Bonnie

Below is an email I received yesterday from my new friend Dallas,
who helps the children who live on the streets in Australia.
As you will see, Dallas is a very special soul.

G'day Bonnie,

Hope this finds you and yours in good health,
and surrounded by love and happiness.

I wrote a poem recently which I have enclosed, I almost
gave up in despair with this loss. But I love these kids and
so many are dependent on me
being there. I have lost so many of my street kids to this evil.

Anyway just wanted to share with you and
to let you know your babys name, photo and poetry
are a constant referral and discussion
point among my street kids. She is part of us now.

Bye for now.

Dallas

                Mellissa Jane And Baby Jade

Within these chapel walls so gray
I farewelled two children today
The chaplin offered up their souls
To the heavenly kingdom paved with gold.

Melissa Jane now rests in peace
A victim of the heroin beast
Not another mourner could be seen
For this sweet child of seventeen.

The back alleys of Perth she roamed
Train stations and parks were her home
This child nobody seemed to know
Never got the chance to shine or glow.

 Molested from an early age
She roamed this world filled with a rage
But to street kids much younger than she
A mother figure she came to be.

Like a little doting mother hen
She fought their battles protected them
She'd tell them always walk with pride
Remember, I'm always at your side.

But there was no one there for her
When slinking like a mangy cur
Deaths dealer came to seek her out
Come home with me, I'll help you out.

And once he'd had his lustful way
He spat her out, chased her away
It wasn't long before she knew
Within her womb life stirred anew.

 So searching for a remedy
With heavy heart she came to me
I'm running out of space and time
What will happen to this child of mine.

There are no options she declared
I'm catholic so best get prepared
But fate stepped in and played it's hand
Deaths dealer called with the final plan.

And so I said farewell today
To Melissa Jane and unborn Jade
Within my heart their spirit sleeps
Mine to treasure and to keep.

 My Robert has been laid
off and with Smiley's Day coming up, the pressure is on....

I want to send out all my love and all my "Thanks"
to my Robert.  Each and every day he "hits the streets"
collecting raffle prizes and donations for
Smiley's Day.  Believe me, without Robert,
there would be no raffle prizes for any of our
activities.  Robert gives 150% to our Education Fund and sometimes more.

I can never thank this man enough
for all he does and all he gives....to keep my Ailie's memory alive.

I love you Robert and I thank you with all my heart....

Bonnie

G'day Bonnie and family,

I hope you don't mind me writing to you,
my beautiful friend Valerie Pearson told me
about your incredible daughter Ailie and of your tragic loss.

Please accept my condolences but also my joy
that you had the unbelievable privilege of sharing this
child, who from everything Val has told me
about her, and from what I have now seen
on your web page brought so much sunshine to so many.

I already feel as if I knew her. My God I bet she's got
Heaven Rockin'. I expect she is the new angel looking over my street kids.

Once again I hope you don't mind me writing to you.

Warmest regards,

Dallas R Weller

On 3/7/02, we received
our much awaited letter from the IRS, stating....

"Based on information you supplied,
and assuming your operations will be
as stated in your application for
recognition of exemption, we have
determined you are exempt
from federal income tax under
section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue
Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3)." !!!!!!!

This means that we can now apply for grants!

The date on this letter was
March 3rd.  It seems to me that the
decision was most likely made on
March 2nd, and the letter was mailed on March 3rd.

If this is true,  this determination
hat we have waited for, for a long time,
was granted around the 2nd anniversary of Ailie's death.

"Thank You Dear Lord For All Good Things
You Send Our Way!!...Ailie...we ache for you...
and miss you so....and in your name,
with the help of God, we will continue to
help those deserving young
people that do not get the recognition
they deserve...God, give us the strength to
continue to help others.....no matter what the obstacles....Amen"

I send my love to you all..

Bonnie

When Ailie died I brought her
magnetic words and phrases
down from her bedroom and put
them on my refrigerator.  I put
up a message to her...
fantasizing that maybe someday
I would look at the refrigerator and
there would be a message from her to
me, spelled out in her magnetic letters.
Part of the words I left there for her
says says..."Ailie, I ache for you girl"....

Then today...her Aunt Valerie
sends me this beautiful piece.
Only one of several that she has
written...She has incredible talent.
I have started a second poetry page and
you can reach it by clicking here on

Poetry Page 2.  Following is the
poem I received in my email from Val yesterday.

My Dearest Bonnie,

     Four words brought me
back to you, as another year
leaves our sight without your sweet
Angel, Please place this one on your site .....
This is one I choose to publish in my
book, let me know what you think, Love ya always, Val

Smiley Bug

Sweet sixteen, of youthful hue,

the years, I try to turn,

Ailie, its like a permanent hole,

in which my heart still yearns,

Frozen walkways, begin this path,

in which I struggle soooo ...... with pain,

"I ache for her"  ..... she whispered out,

and I hear her call your name,

Losing you, of golden smiles,

tressled locks of blonde,

that smile that you brought within,

how are "We" to carry on,

The light dimmed out the day you died,

without you its seems gray,

sweet, sweet one, of sixteen years,

we love you so .... today,

Reminiscing back on pictures,

and tiny written notes,

I'm lost within the pain I feel,

and the tears that seem to float,

"New days soon will find me ... peace"

I hear so many say,

but its so much to bear this loss,

when this angel flew away,

I keep you soooo ..... deep within,

the pocket of my heart ... now bare,

who was that girl that changed our life,

and flutters with wings up there,

The spirit winds, I try to hear,

where I laid your soul to rest,

"I ache for her" ...... I hear her whisper,

of youthful hue, then death!

Our spaghetti dinner went well.
We had around 40 people show up for a
great meal!  We met some wonderful people and it was great!

I received the following card from
Rachell Ann, Ailie's internet friend for Valentine's Day...

Dear Bonnie,

Happy Valentines Day!  "We'll be friends forever,
won't we Pooh? asked Piglet.  Even longer, answered
Pooh!"  May all love surround you today and always.
Ailie is with you today and forever.
She is smiling down from the clouds,
proud of all that her momma has
done for her.  Love, peace, smiles and dolphins!!  Rachell Anne

We still need some items,
so if you can help, please call me, ok?

I have finally finished Ailie's
"Memories" page.  This is the
last of Ailie's scrapbook.
It has taken a while to get here.
Sometimes my heart breaks
to read of your pain...very difficult, very.

It will take time to download
because I have put a few newspaper
 clippings, and they are large.
Please take the time to let them download, ok?

I will continue to update
"Memories 2" as things come in.
I will now try and finish
 Ailie's poetry page, and
I must get the application up
so you can apply for the funds.
I will do the application next.
Watch for updates...and many more pictures!

Love,

Bonnie

Today at 9 a.m. we are installing a
special decoration that I have designed
for Ailie's monument..I hope all of you
will go and take a look at it.  It is
beautiful and the Croswell Greenhouse
 outdid themselves in helping
me get this made.  I cannot thank
them enough, they did a beautiful
job, truly.  I will also place Jason's
blanket at the same time.  I hope you like them..

Got a call from my friend
Merline Birtwell, and she
attended the meeting of the VFW 2382
members and asked if Ailie's Fund
could use their hall in Lexington for a
spaghetti dinner at NO CHARGE!
They said YES!  This is great news.
We will now have a meeting and figure
out what day to have this dinner.
We have agreed that a Sunday right
after church would be the best time.
Maybe in January or February.  I will let you know.

November, 2002

Happy Thanksgiving to All of You!

Finally mailed out 30 page form to the
 Internal Revenue Service requesting
that The Ailie Pearson Alternative Education
Fund be recognized as a tax-exempt organization.
It took this long because the fee was $150.00
and we just didn't have it!  I finally spoke with
Ailie's Dad, Paul, and he mailed me a $100.00
donation!  Thanks Paul!! I had our CPA complete
the form because I wanted to make sure it was
done correctly.  Now, we wait.  I've heard that it
could take 6 months or longer.  Once I get
this status and the form 5013C, I can apply for
grants..and we won't always be so broke!

The Skill Center Kids have finished my proof of the
application and this year's "Thank You" letter that I
need to mail out.  These kids have worked so very
hard on these projects for me.  They are beautiful!
I am so very glad that Tina came to see me and
told me that the KIDS could do this work
for me. Tiffiany Hall has been so vital in this
accomplishment.  She has been my "go between"
and has worked very hard!  From now on,
I will send all the work I can to the Skill Center
and see if they can do it for me.  What a great
way for them to help with Ailie's Fund, huh!!

Also, a big "Thank You" to Chris Schuster for
coming in on his day off and working on Ailie's
buttons.  They are so very beautiful, and Chris
has added his incredible creativity in making them.
Thanks also to all of you guys for working so
hard making these buttons and meeting
our last minute deadline!  You Guys Rock!

The only problem is that we are broke now, and I'm
not sure I can afford to send them out until
after the holidays....We shall see.
Tina will be contacting me with prices soon.
