Graduation Day 2006

Hi,
This is Christin Mea Mindel. I was so excited about the scholarship! I had
applied for as many as I could and nothing came back. But today was a very
exciting day. I am eighteen years old and I just graduated from Harbor Light
Christian School where I have attended since pre-school. I decided to go
into the nursing field after being the first car at the scene of an
accident. From that day forward, I wanted to become a nurse so that I could
spend my life being devoted to helping people. I picked a field that I am
most interested in and it was Oncology. I have been participating in the
Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.

Anyways, I would like to introduce you to my family. My dad's name is Gary
Mindel and he is the pastor of Harbor Light Church. My mom's name is LisaKay
and she is the arts director at the church also. I have one brother and his
name is Tanner and he is the camera director at our church. As you can see,
our family is very involved in church and we all love the Lord and try to
serve him daily.

I am very excited about this scholarship and the opportunity it gives me to
be able to go to college and pursue my dreams. I am so blessed and I can't
thank the family enough or thank Ailie for being an awesome role model and a
beautiful light.

Thanks Again,
Christin Mea Mindel

Introducing Ailie's
2004 Scholarship Winner!

Miss Jennifer Nolan

The Ailie Pearson Alternative Education Scholarship winner for 2004 is Jennifer Marie Nolan.

Jennifer is a senior enrolled in Carsonville-Port Sanilac’s Alternative Education program and is a student in Graphic Communications at the Sanilac Career Center in Sandusky, Michigan.  After she graduates in May, she plans to work at Lowe’s in Port Huron and attend Baker College in the fall.  She plans to acquire an associate’s degree as an administrative assistant secretary.

Jennifer resides in Carsonville, Michigan with her mother, Carol.  Her father, Tom lives in Marlette.  Her older brother Kevin lives in Carsonville with his wife Heather and Jennifer’s three nephews, Kevin, Trenton, and Brandon.  Jennifer is ‘ecstatic’ and honored to be selected to receive this scholarship in Ailie’s memory.  She plans to make the very best of this opportunity.

Ailie's Fund will not only send $1,000 to Baker College for Jennifer, but we are going to do everything we can to help Jennifer get a head start on life.  She starts her job at Lowe's in Fort Gratiot on Saturday, May 1st.  We steered Jennifer to Lowes, as they were hiring, and Robert works there, so he knew this!  Once she gets settled in at her new job we are going to go with her and help her find her own apartment.  You wouldn't believe the people who are coming to me with items for Jennifer's apartment.  Believe me, this little girl will need nothing when she is ready to set up her apartment!  If you would like to help, call Bonnie Gainor at 810-679-4832.

One thing we do need for Jennifer is a reliable vehicle to get her to work and to school!  If anyone knows of a vehicle that can be donated to Ailie's Fund, please call us.  You can deduct the value from your taxes because Ailie's Fund is a registered 501 (3) (c)!  We will give you a receipt!  Please help us help Jennifer get a reliable vehicle!

Please come to Smiley's Day on May 15th at Lakeview Hills Country Club and meet Jennifer.  She would like to thank all who supported Ailie's Fund for making her dreams come true!
